The Team
We have the privilege of working with some of the most talented professionals in their respective fields. The Fifth Room Creative team is a diverse group of creative people with specialties ranging from design and development to project management and accounting.
Steve Guberman Principal & Creative Director
The founder, principal, and creative director of Fifth Room Creative, Steve Guberman is the brains behind the operation. A firm believer in teaching the power of experience, Steve encourages his team to explore and share their ideas; because every project brings the opportunity to learn something new. Steve is awesome at everything involved in branding and marketing, and he knows more Photoshop and Illustrator keyboard shortcuts than the rest of us combined.
Steve’s a true believer in following passion to the end. That’s the reason Fifth Room Creative exists. That’s also the reason he helped open one of the first Coworking spaces in NJ in 2010. Steve gets amazing support and inspiration from his wife and two children on a daily basis.
If you like what Steve’s about, why not check him out on Twitter? He goes by the name @MrGube.
Mike Green Senior Web Developer (A.K.A. Code Ninja)
Fifth Room Creative’s resident code ninja, Mike Green, specializes in web application development. His programming skills are matched only by his wit and good looks. Mike speaks the languages of the web fluently (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby, PHP) and is an experienced Ruby on Rails developer. If you walk by his desk, you’ll notice that he has a new Vim color scheme every week. (If you don’t know what that means, you should probably hire us.)
Mike tries to immerse himself in a new programming language, platform, or technology each month; because no tool is right for every job. He likes to play guitar, mess around with electronics, and take bizarre pictures of himself in Photo Booth in his spare time. He also plays a weekly game of Dungeons and Dragons with his best friends, and is irrationally proud of his Dungeon Master status.
Mike talks about politics, music, science, and code on Twitter as @mikedamage.
Gillian Deak Senior Graphic Designer & Project Manager
Gillian is Fifth Room Creative’s branding and design diva. You’ll usually find her immersed in InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator creating web and/or print communications for clients or on the other end of the phone if you give Fifth Room a ring, as she is project manager for most clients. Whether it’s creating logos, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, sell sheets, websites or posters, Gillian has a passion for design and for creating visual solutions for Fifth Room’s clients.
Currently Gillian is delving into the realm of web development learning HTML, CSS and Javascript. She hangs with her pet chinchillas and loves to curl up with a good book in her free time.

Steve Morris Graphic Designer
As a freelance designer, Steve plays an integral role in the design work done at Fifth Room Creative. He started his career in the burgeoning environment of Silicon Alley, in 1994, when gif animation was the state-of the-art in motion graphics and industry events included body painting, performance artists and track after track of techno. Steve had his first full-length graphic novel published by Dark Horse Comics in 2007, which he wrote, illustrated and provided some design work for. When he’s not cranking out amazing design work for us or any of his other clients, Steve Illustrates comic book covers for Joss Whedon properties such as Serenity, Dollhouse and Angel. He had his first signing, in the Fall of 2010, at the New York Comicon.

AnneMarie Bornstad Bookkeeper
Anne Marie is the number cruncher at Fifth Room Creative. She makes sure the money stays rolling in, and unfortunately, rolling out as well. Anne Marie is the keeper of the books, reconciler of accounts, and by far the best phone voice in the office. She’s currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ in Accounting.
Winnie CooperCuteness Administrator / Moral Booster / Enforcer / Mascot
Winnie covers a lot of responsibilities, for being only 6lbs. Her day-to-day tasks range from sleeping, to napping, chewing on toys, more napping, playing, and some afternoon sleeping. She’s also the first one to greet someone that is visiting our office and it’s usually with a speedily wagging tail. From time to time we’ll sick her on clients who’s accounts become delinquent, but that doesn’t happen too often. The energy Winnie brings to the office is contagious and the creativity soars when she’s here with us each day.
